About the role
The role involves performing basic welding processes using semi-automatic welders and wire feeders. Responsibilities include visual inspection of welds, completing and maintaining required paperwork, and interpreting blueprints and BOMs.
Responsibilities
- Operate semi-automatic welder and wire feeder
- Visually identify good and bad welds
- Follow mini process sheets
- Complete and maintain required paperwork
- Read and interpret blueprints and BOMs
- Use and operate small hand and power tools
- Perform self-inspection and basic rigging
- Identify and use various hand and power tools
- Participate in quality inspections to meet ISO standards
- Maintain departmental housekeeping
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Adhere to safety and health procedures
- Participate in safety and health training
- Bring safety concerns to management
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Welding experience required
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding drawings
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and carry up to 100 feet
- Normal shop environment, willing to work shifts and overtime
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- Travel may be required for training
- Required PPE includes safety glasses, safety shoes, hearing protection
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED preferred. Welding experience required. Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and welding drawings. Must be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and carrying up to 100 feet. Normal shop environment, willing to work shifts and overtime. Self-motivated and able to work independently. Travel may be required for training. Required PPE includes safety glasses, safety shoes, hearing protection.
