Overview

$1000 Sign on Associate II, Welder Overview

  • Weld and assemble different pieces by using hand held welding equipment such as hand tools, clamps, jigs, and fixtures.
  • Utilize different materials (plate steel, sheet steel, structural steel, and tubing).
  • Prepare and complete work on materials by welding, cutting, grinding, and cleaning metal.
  • Test and inspect welded components to ensure they meet set specifications before moving to the next department.
  • Work from different specifications and shop orders.
  • Utilize ruler, square, templates, and gauges to take and read measurements.
  • Operate cranes, hoists, and lift tables.
  • Report damages on machines and equipment; maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.
  • Report all unsafe conditions to management.
  • Monitor/control the robotic welding process.
  • Operate robotic welding equipment to perform welding tasks.
  • Program robotic welding systems.
  • Provide work reports/feedback to supervisors or engineering teams.
  • Set up/prepare robotic welding equipment for operation.
  • Troubleshoot/resolve and recover from potential technical issues that may arise.
  • Performs other duties and/or responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

Associate II, Welder Qualifications

  • No minimum education required.
  • 1+ year of robotic welding experience required.
  • Basic knowledge of MIG welding, handheld plasma machines and cutting torches using cutting steel, acetylene and other cutting methods.
  • Basic knowledge of welding techniques, material characteristics, and structural fundamentals.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and push/pull up to 100 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and sit up.
  • Ability to use hand to finger, handle, or feel.
  • Ability to climb or balance.
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, or crawl.
  • Ability to reach with hands and arms.
  • Ability to talk or hear.
  • Recognized robotic welding certification (preferred).
  • Prior experience with solid core wires and argon/oxygen welding gasses (preferred).
  • Prior experience MIG welding of structural steel and plate (preferred).
  • 3-5 years experience loading, operating and welding in a robotic welding environment (preferred).

Benefits

The pay rate for this position is $21.50/hr.

Base pay offered may vary depending on a number of factors including, but not limited to, the position offered, location, education, training, and/or experience.

In addition to base pay, also offered is a comprehensive benefits package and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).

This position is eligible for participation in a short-term incentive plan subject to the terms of the applicable plans and policies.
