How You Will Make An Impact (Job Summary)
SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As a Welder, you will perform welding operations to assemble and secure sheet metal for electrical and industrial equipment, according to engineering drawings and specifications.
What You Can Expect In This Role (Job Responsibilities)
- Lays out, positions, and secures parts and assemblies according to specifications.
- Welds or tack welds metal parts together, using tig welding, mig welding, or spot welding equipment.
- Removes rough spots from workpiece, using grinder, sander, or saw.
- Might be trained and tested to be ASME certified.
What we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)
- Required Experience:
- One to three months related experience and/or training.
- Ability to correctly read a tape measure.
- Ability to read engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of tig welding, mig welding, and spot welding equipment and techniques.
- PREFERRED Experience, Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities:
- Tig welding, Mig welding, and stick welding certification.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
