Welder (2nd Shift)

Responsibilities

• Lay out, fit, and weld materials using production orders, standard work, blueprints, and engineering/customer specifications.
• Inspect the finished structure for acceptable material, fit, and weld quality.
• Accurately enter data into the MRP (e.g., SAP) system and ensure inventory is correctly stated.
• Maintain accurate records such as production orders, data collection, and Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM) sheets.
• Maintain all welding equipment used in the department.
• Safely operate fork trucks and cranes.
• Maintain quality throughout the welding process.
• Lift 50–100 pounds on a frequent basis.

Requirements

• High School Diploma with excellent math and reading/writing ability.
• Ability to obtain fork‑lift and crane certification.
• Experience with MIG, flux‑core, and submerged arc welding.
• Experience with cutting torches, grinders, sanders, and cutting wheels.
• Experience reading blueprints.
• Ability to operate welding equipment and read/interpret standard American Welding Society symbols.
• Ability to perform quality inspections based on set expectations.
• Ability to learn basic computer skills involving SAP and Microsoft Office.
