Responsibilities
- Follow and mentors safety procedures and PPE
- MIG and TIG welding on intermediate level projects with minimal rework
- Perform basic purge welding
- Understand and execute safe lifting and rigging with crane and forklifts
- Consistently complete projects within expected timeframes
- Read and interpret complex drawings
- Recognize the need for occasional deviations from drawing
- Make decisions as required
- Effectively train lesser experienced coworkers
Qualifications
- Education: GED or High school diploma, Welding certificate a plus
- Experience: 2–5+ years of related Tig welding experience
- Perform basic Purge welding
- 2-5 years experience reading and interpreting complex drawings
- 2-5 years experience executing safe lifting and rigging with crane and forklifts
Physical Requirements
- Able to ascend and descend ladders, stairs, and in proximity to loud equipment
- Able to lift and carry or otherwise move up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Able to see and respond to at-risk situations
- Able to wear personal protective gear when in industrial locations
- Able to sit for longer periods of time as well as move about throughout the office and production, / laboratory environment
