Welder - 1st Shift - Springfield, OH

Duties And Responsibilities

• Read simple blueprints and drawings
• Perform MIG, TIG, and other types of welds based on project needs
• Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety
• Test and inspect welded surfaces to detect flaws
• Align components using callipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces
• Report on damages to machines and equipment
• Support business needs in current position and other departments as needed

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a welder or schooling
• Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
• Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves, etc.)
• Attention to detail, time management skills, and a positive attitude
• High School diploma/GED preferred
• Professional certification is a plus

Working Conditions

• Wear protective clothing and goggles for safety
• Work in a confined area designed to contain sparks and glare
• Occasionally must lift heavy objects and work in awkward positions
• Most work full time and overtime is common

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift 40-50lbs
• Must be able to work in awkward positions to weld or do minor electrical work
