Duties and responsibilities
- Read simple blueprints and drawings
- Perform MIG, TIG, and other types of welds based on project needs
- Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety
- Test and inspect welded surfaces to detect flaws
- Always follow specifications and instructions for maximum efficiency
- Align components using callipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces
- Report on damages to machines and equipment
- Support business needs in current position and other departments as needed
Requirements
- Proven experience as a welder or schooling
- Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
- Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves, etc.)
- Attention to detail, time management skills, and a positive attitude
Qualifications
- High School diploma/GED preferred
- Professional certification is a plus
Working conditions
- Welders wear protective clothing and goggles for safety
- Welders may work in a confined area designed to contain sparks and glare
- Occasionally must lift heavy objects and work in awkward positions
- Most work full time and overtime is common
- Must be able to lift 40-50lbs.
- Must be able to work in awkward positions to weld or do minor electrical work

- Schedule – 6:00am to 2:30pm Monday through Friday onsite
