About the role
The Latham MR Magnets facility is a manufacturing and development site for Magnetic Resonance Imaging magnets and other superconducting products used in Philips Magnetic Resonance Imaging and other customers. Your Role is to perform precise high-quality TIG welds on aluminum and stainless steel, run an automated welding cell, cut, bend, drill, tap, and perform similar operations as required to fabricate intricate assemblies encountered in cryogenic applications, read and understand drawings and supporting documents, and demonstrate proficiency in creating high-quality TIG and MIG welds, especially vacuum leak-tight TIG welds on aluminum.
Responsibilities
- Perform precise high-quality TIG welds on aluminum and stainless steel
- Run an automated welding cell by operating and overseeing a robotic welding system
- Set up the equipment, monitor its performance, and make adjustments to ensure each weld meets quality standards
- Handle routine maintenance of the welding equipment
- Create intricate assemblies required for cryogenic applications
- Read and understand drawings and supporting documents
- Use precision instruments to perform welding tasks
Requirements
- 1+ years of welding experience
- Experience using mechanical assembly tools
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- Proficiency in creating high-quality TIG and MIG welds, especially vacuum leak-tight TIG welds on aluminum
- Ability to operate bridge cranes and forklift trucks
- Ability to read and write to follow documentation assembly procedures and sign off documentation as required

Pay
The pay range for this position in NY is $18.10 to $28.96 plus overtime eligible and 3rd shift pay differential. The actual base pay offered may vary within the posted ranges depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.
Schedule
This is a third-shift role covering 11:20pm-7:30am.
