POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Welder to join our team. The Welder will be responsible for joining, cutting, and repairing metal and other materials using welding equipment.
Essential Responsibilities
- Perform welding tasks using different techniques such as MIG, TIG, Stick, and arc welding
- Weld, cut, and fabricate metal components as per project requirements and technical drawings
- Ensure all welding work is performed with precision and to specified quality standards
- Follow all safety guidelines and procedures to prevent accidents or injuries
- Maintain and use personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, helmets, and masks
- Inspect workpieces for defects before and after welding and correct any issues
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, or schematics to determine welding requirements
- Ensure welding work meets specified measurements, alignment, and tolerances
- Maintain and repair welding machines, tools, and other equipment used in the welding process
- Regularly inspect and clean welding equipment to ensure proper functionality
- Collaborate with other team members, engineers, or supervisors to plan and execute welding tasks
- Communicate any challenges or issues with the welding process to supervisors in a timely manner
- Ensure that welding joints meet industry standards and specifications
- Conduct inspections of completed welds using tools like micrometers, calipers, or visual inspection to check for accuracy
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Welder or in a similar role
- Proficiency in various welding techniques (e.g., MIG, TIG, Stick)
- Strong knowledge of welding materials and metal properties
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to perform quality checks on completed work
- Good physical strength and stamina, capable of working in a physically demanding environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in welding (e.g., AWS, ASME)
- Experience with advanced welding technologies or automation
- Knowledge of CAD software for design interpretation (a plus)
Work Environment
- Ability to work in various environmental conditions, including heat, dust, and noise
- May be required to work in confined spaces or at heights
