Responsibilities
- Support and follow the Company Safety Program
- Support daily welding operations (MIG, TIG, Resistance, or Robotic welding as applicable)
- Set up, adjust, and troubleshoot welding equipment, tooling, and fixtures
- Perform cut and etch inspections to evaluate weld penetration, fusion, and nugget size
- Conduct destructive weld testing (peel tests, chisel tests, torque/tension tests, macro-etch samples, etc.)
- Perform basic nondestructive testing and inspections such as visual inspection, dye penetrant, and magnetic particle (as applicable)
- Interpret inspection results and identify weld defects or process deviations
- Aid in corrective actions and process improvements based on inspection findings
- Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and inspection standards
- Support weld process validation, trials, and customer or internal audits
- Maintain accurate records of inspection results, weld parameters, and test data
- Follow all safety, quality, and production requirements
- Maintain & produce Red Rabbits at cell
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Weld certification (AWS or equivalent) – desired
- Working knowledge of welding processes and materials
- Experience using a microscope / software
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot equipment and processes
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and support production needs
- Ability to lift 40+ pounds
Job Location
Supports the Gerstco Manufacturing Group with some travel as required.
