Weld Inspector

Harris Machine is seeking a Weld Inspector for its Oakes facility. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in welding, expertise in blueprint reading, dimensional analysis, and tolerancing, and exceptional attention to detail, including proficiency with Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) to ensure compliance with industry standards and project specifications.

Responsibilities

• Conduct visual inspections of welded components to ensure conformance with specifications.
• Interpret and analyze blueprints, technical drawings, Standard Work Instructions, and customer specifications.
• Utilize CMM and other measurement tools to assess dimensional tolerances and make necessary adjustments.
• Stay updated with industry regulations, standards, and best practices related to welding inspections.
• Provide recommendations for process improvements and assist in developing inspection procedures.

Qualifications and Skills

• 5+ years of experience in welding and weld inspection.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
• Strong computer skills, including experience with inspection and measurement software.
• Knowledge of CMM operations and dimensional tolerancing principles.
• Familiarity with industry codes and standards (e.g., AWS, ASME, ISO).
• Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications in welding inspection (e.g., AWS, CWI, ASNT VT Level III).
• Experience working in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
