Weld Apprentice

Job Responsibilities

• Participate in training program to develop welding skills and knowledge.
• Ensure all welds are clean, grinded, and inspected; repair welds if necessary before moving product to next operation.
• Perform all welds according to drawings and/or instructions.
• Fill out inspection records and other required records neatly and correctly and return them to supervisor at the end of the workday.
• Ensure work is carried out in accordance with established company procedures.
• Maintain a neat and clean workplace; comply with any FEM and LEAN manufacturing principles.
• Report any unsafe equipment to supervisor immediately, lock out equipment until repairs can be performed.
• Adhere to company policies and safety procedures.
• Use flame cutting equipment if instructed.
• Use appropriate safety equipment, including welding helmet (auto darkening), hearing protection, safety shoes (Met-Guard Type), face shield (as required), safety glasses, flame retardant clothing, and welding gloves.

Education & Skill Requirement

• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Able to safely operate hand and power tools.
• Able to read blueprints (preferred).

About the Role

Expectations WITHIN 30 DAYS OF EMPLOYEMENT, EMPLOYEE MUST BE ABLE TO PASS A HORIZONTAL AND VERTICAL MULTI-PASS FILLET WELD TEST WITH FLUX CORED ARC PROCESS. TRAINING WILL BE PROVIDED.

Training

Training will be provided.

Schedule

Full Time: Training Hours - Mon-Friday 6am-2:30pm
Once training is passed - Mon-Thurs 6am-4:30pm

Pay

$18 per hour
