Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate all assigned event/program-related activities to ensure successful programs.
- Support New Student Orientation, Orientation Groups, Family Weekend, Welcome Week, Spring Welcome and other programs in any way needed.
- Present a professional and welcoming image for the office lobby, greeting and directing guests, faculty, staff and students.
- Cookordinate and oversee projects related to office inventory, scheduling, aesthetic and beautification.
- Maintain accurate record of expenses and successfully reconcile monthly budget records.
- Prepare expense reports and submit for management approval, and collaborate with Accounting as needed for necessary expense details and adjustments.
- Initiate and coordinate events, programs, and initiatives to maximize staff and student morale within the office.
- Maintain timely and accurate communication with guests and staff or students outside the office, either in-person or via phone, email, social media, text message or direct mail.
- Collect and analyze data through a variety of means (e.g., surveys, focus groups) to provide feedback for management in assessing the effectiveness of programs/activities.
- Provide ongoing programmatic recommendations to improve/update programs through active efforts of maintaining awareness of current trends in student development, university orientation and learning programs and cultural engagement.
- Perform other administrative activities such as preparing reports, answering phones, filing, data entry, photocopying, collating materials, etc.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution.
- Must pass a pre-employment background investigation.
- Exemplary planning and organization skills and good attention to detail.
- Ability to develop effective and harmonious relationships with students/individuals of diverse and cultural backgrounds.
- Strong communications skills, particularly interpersonally and via email.
- Cooperative, collaborative and inclusive team player.
- Ability to project a professional representation of the University at all times.
- Ability to cope and adapt to changing priorities, work in a fast-paced environment and under stressful conditions to meet deadlines and schedules.
- Good critical thinking and problem resolution skills.
- Computer proficient including MS Office Suite, internet, social media, and email services.
- Flexibility to work varying schedules including evenings, holidays and weekends when necessary.
