About the role

The position of Welcome Center Specialist is for the purpose of welcoming families, students, and community members to the Bellevue School Community. Responsibilities

  • Welcomes families and students by serving as the initial contact for district services, including enrollment, special education, language acquisition services, transportation, family and student resources, and technology support.
  • Creates a sense of belonging for families, students, and staff within the Welcome Center.
  • Affords assistance with the registration process and responds to the needs of families and students.
  • Collaborates with other departments and employees within the District.
  • Acts as a bridge between families and district departments, ensuring effective communication and timely and effective resolution of any concerns.
  • Serves as a member of the Welcome Center team for the District.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in customer service, community outreach, or related field.
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in an educational setting or our school district.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of customer services principles.
  • Knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations relating to enrollment policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations relating to student privacy.
  • Demonstrates understanding of the Bellevue communities.
  • Knowledge of District schools and departments for dissemination to families, students, and the community.
  • Knowledge of District techniques and principles relating to the processing and handling of confidential information.
  • Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software applications.
  • Ability to navigate work in a busy, public-facing environment, in-person, and through technology, including high volumes of written/electronic communication.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including ability to collaborate with others.
  • Ability to communicate (oral and written) technical information to non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to analyze and evaluate data to determine compliance with enrollment requirements.
  • Ability to solve problems and principles in order to resolve conflict.
  • The ability to meet externally imposed and inflexible deadlines.
  • The ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • The ability to keep accurate records and prepare reports.
  • Organizational skills are necessary to work priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Critical thinking skills are necessary to identify and recommend the appropriate action(s) to resolve various issues.
  • The ability to work independently with minimal direction and guidance and establish work priorities.
  • The ability to work on a number of tasks simultaneously.
  • Demonstrates multicultural sensitivity with the ability to effectively and collaboratively work with diverse populations.
  • The ability to perform all duties in accordance with applicable Board policies, district, and legal requirements.
  • The ability to meet and maintain punctuality and attendance expectations.

Physical Requirements

  • Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
  • Stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.
  • Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.

Pay

CTSA Grade 2 ($ 66,490 to 69,990 annual salary non-exempt), starting at $ 66,490 for 40 hours per week, for a 260-day annual assignment.
