Weights and Research Inspector

Responsibilities

• Develop positive relationships and promote teamwork and morale with all employees.
• Practice safe work methods and encourage safety in daily operation.
• Perform job responsibilities in a NON-temperature controlled, loud and dusty environment.
• Reach, step, bend and maneuver to complete inspections inside of trailers and on the dock.
• Able to climb in and out of a trailer from ground level.
• Have the ability to walk & stand for long periods of time.
• Carry and/or pickup freight to perform inspection process.
• Process and review W&R reports to learn which accounts have opportunity for revenue recovery.
• Regular data entry and auditing required in daily duties.
• Conduct inspections of shipments (document actual commodity, take pictures, document dimensions).
• Cross reference Bill Of Lading to insure accurate information is designated by shipper.
• Enter correct data into the AS400 system so accurate class, weight and dimensions are documented for revenue recovery.
• Upload pictures onto computer and/or flash drive for future reference.
• Utilize all current NMFC provisions including Rules & packaging.
• Perform other duties as required/requested.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Able to work independently and as a team member.
• Ability to make decisions in a fast paced work environment.
• Knowledge of the LTL industry, and/or W&R, is preferred.
• Ability to demonstrate leadership, communication and administrative skills.
• Able to work ALL shifts / ALL hours.
