Weighmaster

About the role

The Materials Division of H&K Group, Inc., is looking for a Weighmaster for their Huckleberry Associates location in Allentown, PA. The Weighmaster tallies quarry products by and from workers, for production control purposes, and dispatches materials on a day-to-day basis.

The ideal candidate is flexible, detail oriented, with strong business acumen, problem solving, and customer service skills. Experience in running heavy equipment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Performs all work according to MSHA and H&K Safety policies
• Weighs trucks loaded with crushed stone and/or asphalt products and issues weigh slips to drivers
• Keeps track of material totals to different jobs
• Computes and records totals of tallied figures
• Examines and sorts items tallied
• Moves tallied items to storage, shipping, or production areas
• Takes orders from contractors and private customers for crushed stone
• Dispatches truck to job sites
• Communicates with material suppliers, laborers, operators, and supervisors with job concerns
• Provides excellent customer service with a positive attitude to both internal and external customers
• Keeps track of traffic and weather conditions affecting schedules
• Monitors petty cash
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent from an accredited educational institution OR a month of related experience and/or training
• Equivalent combination of education & experience may be considered
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Basic Microsoft Office skills (Word, Outlook, Excel)
• Reliable transportation to travel to regional quarries
• Valid Driver License and good driving record
• Able to work a flexible work schedule
• Attention to detail
• Ability to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as needed
• Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)

Preferred Skills, Education, and Experience

• State Weighmaster’s license
• Previous scalehouse experience
• OSHA, MSHA, or other relevant safety certifications
