Weekend RN Supervisor (72348)

About the role

Supervise the day-to-day nursing activities performed by the Nursing Services staff on weekends and provide direct nursing care to residents. Ensure compliance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations governing the facility, under the direction of the Director of Nursing Services (DON) or Assistant Director of Nursing Services (ADON), to maintain the highest degree of quality care.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day functions of the Nursing Services staff and ensure their performance aligns with current rules, regulations, and guidelines for long-term care facilities.
• Ensure staff complies with procedures outlined in the Nursing Services Procedures Manual.
• Verify that staff performs duties as outlined in their respective job descriptions.
• Provide written and oral reports or recommendations concerning shift activities as required.
• Coordinate with other resident services to maintain the resident’s total regimen of care.
• Interpret department policies and procedures to staff, residents, visitors, and government agencies as needed.
• Clear a criminal background check, maintain good standing with the Louisiana Misconduct Registry, and not appear on the Office of Inspector General’s (OIG) List of Excluded Individuals/Entities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university or graduation from an approved RN program.
• At least three (3) years of nursing experience in long-term care.
• At least two (2) years of supervisory experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of computers, including internet, keyboard, and mouse navigation.
• Active RN License (Required).

Schedule

Every other Saturday and Sunday, 8-hour shifts.
