About the role
Respiratory Therapist II responsible for delivering advanced respiratory care, medication administration, and patient assessment in critical care settings.
Responsibilities
- Perform patient assessments, collaborate with healthcare team, and verify orders for therapies including ventilator management, aerosolized medications, airway management, and arterial blood gas analysis.
- Provide patient, family, and staff education, mentor new employees, and participate in staff development activities.
- Promote a safe, quality environment by ensuring accurate documentation, electronic order compliance, and adherence to safety protocols.
- Participate in performance improvement initiatives and evidence-based practices to enhance patient outcomes.
Qualifications & Skills
- Graduate of an accredited respiratory therapy program with associate's degree; bachelor's preferred.
- Current licensure and certifications including Registered Respiratory Therapist, BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, and instructor certifications.
- 0-2 years clinical experience with at least 6 months in critical care setting.
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and computer skills; ability to establish professional relationships.
