Weekend Per Diem Phlebotomist
About the role
Weekend Phlebotomist position at our Basking Ridge location, working from 5:30am-11:30am. This individual will draw blood from patients for laboratory procedures used in the diagnosis and treatment of infertility. The Phlebotomist maintains a cooperative relationship with clinical staff and helps to create a positive experience for our patients.
Responsibilities
- Properly identifies patients.
- Performs and explains the process of the venipuncture and/or other specimen collection as required.
- Conducts blood draws, labeling specimens, and centrifuging specimens.
- Stores and transports specimen samples according to procedures to maintain integrity of the specimen.
- Understands and complies with OSHA and DEP regulations.
- Maintains clean and stocked phlebotomy area.
- Reassures patients and provides comfort to ease anxieties.
Requirements
- Completion of a Phlebotomy Program – highly preferred (required in CA, WA, TX).
- 3+ years' recent work performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting – required.
- Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and occasional evenings.
Skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook) – required.
- Electronic Medical Records (EMR) experience – required.
