Weekend Nurse Supervisor RN

About the role

The Unit Manager Registered Nurse oversees the entire operation of a nursing unit within a long-term care healthcare facility. This position offers an $8/hr Weekend Warrior Bonus for both full-time and part-time employees, along with a $5,000 sign-on bonus for full-time positions.

Responsibilities

• Hiring, disciplining, and evaluating employees
• Planning and facilitating meetings and committees to address resident care issues
• Managing the unit with the goal of providing the highest quality of care
• Developing, implementing, and evaluating programs for nursing staff
• Contacting physicians and ensuring timely and appropriate interventions
• Maintaining staffing patterns and adjusting personnel as needed
• Monitoring clinical operations and resident conditions
• Assisting in the orientation of new personnel and guiding staff
• Participating in the facility's QA program
• Performing other tasks as assigned

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, with a degree preferred
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN), if required by state law
• Valid CPR teaching certificate, if applicable
• Three years of nursing experience, including one year in a long-term care setting

• Skilled in motivating staff and leading teams
• Skilled in assessing and managing work environments
• Effective communication skills, including with residents and their families
• Knowledge of state and federal regulations for accreditation and certification
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to work with a diverse population
