This position is based in Topeka, KS, where 27 News is the NBC, FOX, ABC, and CW affiliate. The newsroom is known for developing journalists and providing mentorship, with a focus on storytelling across various platforms including TV, digital, mobile, and social media.

Responsibilities

• Anchor Saturday newscasts and produce Sunday shows
• Report three days a week
• Produce content for TV, digital, mobile, and social platforms
• Work with management to enterprise and develop daily stories
• Tell compelling stories through strong writing, live presence, and creative use of video, graphics, and social media
• Gather and verify information through interviews, observation, and research
• Build and maintain a network of sources to stay competitive
• Perform special projects and other duties as assigned

Requirements and Skills

• Newsroom experience
• Strong vocal delivery, on-camera presence, and clear enunciation
• Strong reporting and writing skills
• Understanding of social media's role in modern journalism
• Excellent reading, writing, spelling, grammar, and organizational abilities
