Weekend Hospice Nurse - Registered Nurse

About the role

Brighton/Suncrest Hospice is a CHAP‑certified hospice dedicated to changing the expectation of hospice care by providing exceptional care and service. The organization emphasizes high staff‑to‑patient ratios, increased clinical visits, and reduced clinician caseloads. The weekend Registered Nurse (RN) will deliver hospice care in patients’ homes, assisted‑living facilities, and hospitals, and will be a strong advocate for hospice services.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care and services for a group of hospice patients, including home, assisted‑living, and hospital visits.
• Complete hospice admissions and patient visits as needed.
• Answer calls from patients, families, and customers.
• Conduct nursing visits for symptom management, end‑of‑life care, and admissions.
• Collaborate daily with nurses, social workers, chaplains, volunteers, and CNA leadership.
• Maintain 1‑to‑1 patient interaction while receiving support from the patient‑care team.
• Manage phone, email, and written communications, and attend required meetings.
• Prioritize and triage multiple concerns, scheduling visits and responding to urgent needs.
• Document care accurately and comply with hospice rules and regulations.

Requirements

• Current RN licensure in good standing in the state(s) of practice.
• At least one year of RN experience under license.
• Admissions and on‑call experience preferred.
• Reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and auto insurance for travel across the service area.

Schedule

Full‑time weekends: Friday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm; Saturday 8:00 am – 8:30 pm; Sunday 8:00 am – 8:30 pm.
