Weekend Controls Technician

The Weekend Controls Technician is responsible for troubleshooting and repairing production equipment, including electrical, mechanical, and PLC systems, to ensure manufacturing reliability. They analyze equipment performance, identify hazards or issues, and perform repairs or programming updates, particularly using ladder logic on Allen Bradley platforms (RS Logix 500 and 5000). Key duties include documenting repairs via the work order system (EAM), troubleshooting with electrical and pneumatic components, maintaining program backups, and evaluating new equipment performance. The role requires proficiency with digital multimeters, basic servo controls, variable frequency drives, and motor troubleshooting on servo, DC, and induction motors. Qualifications include at least 2 years of related experience, an associate’s degree in a technical field (preferred), and the ability to obtain forklift and aerial platform licenses. The technician should also be experienced with asset management software and Microsoft Office Suite. Skills include strong troubleshooting, programming, documentation, and collaboration with maintenance and process groups.
