Job Responsibilities
- Anchor newscasts with professionalism, credibility, and energy
- Act as a newsroom leader, helping to shape the vision and direction of newscasts
- Develop and produce engaging, accurate, and timely newscasts
- Generate story ideas and develop sources to create compelling, local content
- Sell and shoot news stories as a Multimedia Journalist (MMJ)
- Maintain excellent news judgment and editorial decision-making
- Collaborate with producers, reporters, and photographers to ensure seamless, high-quality broadcasts
- Engage with viewers through social media and other platforms to enhance audience experience and coverage
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, or related field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Anchor, MMJ, or Reporter preferred
- Ability to produce newscasts and generate creative content under tight deadlines
- Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills
- Proficiency in shooting and editing video
- Excellent news judgment and leadership abilities
- Comfortable with live reporting and breaking news coverage
- Familiarity with newsroom software and editing tools
