KREM 2 seeks a talented and dynamic Weekend Evening Anchor for Saturday and Sunday newscasts. The role also includes weekday reporting and filling in as an anchor on other newscasts as needed. The successful candidate will demonstrate superior on-camera communication skills and the ability to engage in spontaneous conversation with the on-air team.

Responsibilities

• Anchor Saturday and Sunday weekend evening newscasts.
• Anchor other newscasts as assigned.
• Write and copy edit stories under deadline.
• Lead coverage decisions and breaking news response on weekend shifts.
• Train and mentor weekend staff.
• On reporting days, identify and pitch multiple story possibilities.
• On reporting days, gather, shoot, write, and edit news stories under deadline.
• Produce a digital version of each broadcast story.
• Produce mobile short stories in real time as stories are breaking and developing.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in journalism or communication preferred.
• Three to five years of experience in daily journalism, including regular opportunities to anchor newscasts.
• Thorough understanding of journalism practices and ethics.

Pay

$26.44–$29.80 USD per hour.
