Website Analyst (Hybrid Option)
About the role
The Website Content Designer plays a key role in shaping the information Californians rely on when seeking health care guidance from DHCS. As part of the Digital Media Section’s web team within the Office of Communications, you will design, write, and maintain clear, accessible, user-focused content on the DHCS public website.
Most of your daily work will center on content design: Writing and editing content using plain language, Improving page structure and usability, Collaborating with program staff to translate complex information into content the public can understand, Ensuring accessibility and consistency across DHCS webpages, Building and updating pages within the department’s content management system.
You will also support DHCS’ transparency initiatives, including maintaining content required under federal regulations such as the CMS Final Rule. These updates are important to DHCS’ public obligations and fit naturally into the team’s broader responsibility to publish accurate, high-quality health information.
Responsibilities
- Create and improve public-facing content for DHCS website
- Work with subject matter experts to simplify complex information
- Manage and update DHCS webpages using CMS tools
- Ensure content is accessible and consistent across DHCS webpages
- Maintain content required under federal regulations

Qualifications
Minimum requirements include:
- Experience creating or improving public facing content
- Experience working with content management systems (CMS)
- Ability to learn and explore new features in CMS or digital tools
- Strong attention to detail and project management skills
- Interest in supporting DHCS’ federal transparency initiatives
Skills
Desirable skills include:
- Proficiency in plain language and accessibility principles
- Strong organizational and layout skills
- Technical skills in WordPress or similar CMS
- Curiosity and initiative in exploring web content improvement tools
- Ability to identify and resolve display or formatting issues
