Responsibilities

  • Build, assemble, fit together, align, plumb, and set forms for molding concrete structures using plans.
  • Fit, align, and set metal and wooden forms to grade for concrete paving and curbs.
  • Set forms to line and level; read and understand plans.
  • Work with survey crews to set stringlines for paving, curb, and gutter.
  • Construct forms for concrete placement and structures.
  • Check forms while concrete is being placed.
  • Assist and direct others in stripping forms after concrete placement.
  • Install miscellaneous materials in erecting concrete structures.
  • Install pre-cast concrete elements.
  • Prepare for slip-forming traffic rails and median barriers.
  • Install permanent metal deck forms.
  • Work with hand tools and power tools.
  • Perform other unlisted duties as required.

Requirements

  • Ability to communicate in English via verbal and written communications.
  • Ability to move throughout a construction jobsite, including navigating minor obstacles, climbing ladders and inclines, operating heavy equipment, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Knowledge of and adherence to company safety policies and procedures.

High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required. Three or more years of related construction experience preferred.

Physical Demands

  • Physical Activity Level: Heavy physical activity performing strenuous day-to-day tasks of a primarily productive/technical nature.
  • Manual Dexterity: Sufficient to reach/handle items and work with fingers; ability to perceive attributes of objects and materials.

Working Conditions

  • Outdoor exposure to changing weather conditions (rain, sun, snow, wind, etc.).
  • Regular exposure to outside weather conditions, extreme cold, extreme heat, wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and high or precarious places.
  • Loud noise levels in the work environment.
