About the role

The State Hygienic Laboratory (SHL), Iowa’s Environmental and Public Health Laboratory, at the University of Iowa, under contract with the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services, has an exciting full-time opportunity for an IT Support Analyst in the Coralville, Iowa facility.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer support for the SHL’s web portal clients.
    • Provision and deprovision client accounts.
    • Reset account passwords.
    • Aid clients with web portal use.
  • Troubleshoot client issues and refer to the appropriate technical group.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated working knowledge and experience with: Microsoft Active Directory.
  • Excellent communication and customer relations skills.
  • Ability to apply critical thinking, technical problem solving, and analyzing system specifications.
  • Ability to perform tasks that require accuracy and attention to detail.

Qualifications

  • Education or equivalency: A Bachelor's degree in a STEM or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience in a hospital or clinical laboratory setting.
  • Experience with a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
  • Knowledge of public health programs.
  • Ability to contribute to a successful team-oriented work environment.

About Pay and Compensation

Work Schedule

Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. with possible weekends and holidays.

Work Modality

On-Site, In-Person. Position may be eligible for hybrid work within Iowa after an initial training and evaluation period.
