About the Role
The Web Content Coordinator is responsible for maintaining the UMass Lowell website, ensuring content is clear, current, accurate, accessible and consistent with the university’s mission and branding initiatives. This position requires a range of editorial and project management skills, as well as knowledge of web technology.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the UMass Lowell website, ensuring content is up-to-date, accurate, and accessible.
- Apply strong editorial and project management skills to support web content initiatives.
- Write and edit content for clarity, consistency, and alignment with university branding and mission.
- Optimize web content for search engine rankings and user experience, including adherence to accessibility standards.
- Utilize web content management systems and interactive technologies (e.g., blogs, social media, video).
- Collaborate on large-scale, high-visibility projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in English, communications, or a related field.
- Five years of experience in communications, marketing, or a related area, with prior experience writing for the web.
- Experience using web content management systems.
Qualifications
- Strong grammatical and editing skills with knowledge of Associated Press style.
- Ability to communicate clearly and persuasively with technical and non-technical audiences using written, verbal, and visual content.
- Familiarity with web best practices, user experience, and accessibility standards.
- Knowledge of interactive technologies, including blogs, social media, and video.
- Experience with coding in HTML, XML, and/or CSS.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), and Google Suite.
- Familiarity with AI tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, etc.
- Strong organizational skills and flexibility to adjust to changing priorities.
Pay
Anticipated salary based on qualifications and experience within the range: minimum $65,693, 25th quartile $74,725, and midpoint $83,758.
