Responsibilities
- Loom Operation: Weaving with Itema rapier looms including monitoring the weaver set
- Defect Inspection: Patrolling and inspecting fabrics for defects, and stopping equipment off when necessary for repairs
- Material Monitoring: Verifying correct doff lengths initial pattern for accuracy
- Troubleshooting: Repairing mechanical stops and assisting service associates in "doffing"
- Safety & Upkeep: Maintaining a clean plant environment, adhering to safety protocols, and performing routine preventative maintenance on looms
Requirements
- Education: High School Diploma or GED is usually preferred
- Experience: Previous textile or industrial weaving, warping or tie in experience is highly desired
Skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Basic math and measurement abilities
- Basic reporting skills
Work Environment / Physical Demands
- Requires the ability to perform 8 hour shift work and regularly lift fill packages up to 20 lbs
- Must be able to coordinate or lead employees among different levels of the organization
- Must be able to work in a variety of physical positions, including sitting, standing, walking, and driving
- May be exposed to uncomfortable or distracting sounds or noise levels in facilities being managed or coordinated
- Able to wear personal protective clothing for prolonged periods; Safety helmet with chinstrap, safety shoes, eye protection, hand protection and hearing protection (as required)
