Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Lifts cones of yam weighing between 8-25lbs and places them on a creel rack.
• On feet for the twelve hour shift except for breaks.
• Pulls cones of yarn off racks hourly and reaches across the loom to locate and repair yarn breaks frequently.
• Pushes-pulls a creel rack or cone rack to reposition it.
• Walks from machine to machine during the shift.
• Steps up onto a catwalk attached to the loom.
• Distinguishes between colors due to various colors of yarn used and loom indicator lights (yellow, blue, and red).
• Passes a hearing test due to high noise area requiring ear-protection.
• Communicates verbally with shift foreman and co-workers in the work area.
• Rethreads yarn to repair breaks in a timely manner to meet production requirements.
• Makes quality control checks hourly and corrects as required to meet production demands.

Experience/Education Requirements

• High School Graduate with the ability to read and write.
• No computer skills required.

Other Requirements

• Previous machinery work background or interest in working with machinery.
• Awareness of needing to be in good physical condition for a 12-hour shift on their feet.
• No accidents in previous work record due to working around machinery and moving machine parts.
