Weatherization Technician

About the role

Athena Building Performance, Inc. is a woman-owned weatherization contractor serving Central and Western Massachusetts. We help homeowners, landlords, and affordable housing providers improve comfort, reduce energy costs, and create healthier homes through insulation, air sealing, and building science.

Responsibilities

• Install insulation, air sealing, and other energy-efficiency improvements
• Prepare and protect occupied homes before work begins
• Load and unload materials and equipment
• Work in attics, basements, crawlspaces, and other residential work areas
• Operate power tools and insulation equipment safely
• Follow company and Mass Save® quality standards
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional job site
• Deliver excellent customer service while working in occupied homes
• Learn advanced building science techniques including: Blower door testing, Combustion safety testing, Insulation assessments

Requirements

• 18 years or older
• Valid Massachusetts Driver's License
• Clean driving record
• Pass a background check and drug screen
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Willingness to work well as part of a team

Qualifications

• Helpful, but not required: Construction or remodeling experience, Insulation or weatherization experience, Carpentry experience, Experience working in occupied homes, Bilingual (English/Spanish or other languages)

Physical Requirements

• Active, hands-on construction position
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Must be able to climb ladders and access attics and crawlspaces
• Must be able to bend, kneel, stoop, crawl, and work overhead
• Must be able to work indoors and outdoors throughout the year
• Must be able to operate power tools safely
• Must be able to drive company vehicles

Pay

$20-$23 per hour, based on experience.

Monday-Friday
Day shift
Overtime available
