Weather Forecaster/Reporter

KSNV in Las Vegas is seeking a Weather Forecaster/Reporter for a weekend weather and weekday general assignment reporting role. Meteorology background encouraged but not required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver daily weathercasts focused on the day’s weather story and upcoming weather events
• Create and post social weather content aligned with the station’s digital plan
• Develop daily weather visuals for all platforms
• Pitch and cultivate story ideas that fit the station’s bucket structure during reporter shifts
• Participate in special or extended weather and news coverage
• Communicate weather events and daily weather stories during content meetings
• Fill in for other station meteorologists on various shifts

Requirements

• Proven track record of creating compelling and engaging stories across multiple platforms
• Ability to perform under pressure, manage breaking news, and meet strict deadlines
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to provide solutions
• Commitment to journalistic standards and ethics
• Excellent interpersonal skills with an emphasis on coaching and motivating others
• Strong understanding of compelling digital content
• Minimum of two years of experience as a reporter or weathercaster in a television news environment or equivalent
• Strong writing skills and a proven track record of achieving results on initiatives
