Weapons Department Support
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist Weapons Officer and LCPO in daily operations of the Weapons Department (Armory, Ordnance, and VAS divisions)
- Receive, issue, and store materiel, parts, and repair components
- Perform inventory verification against shipping documentation (National Stock Number (NSN), quantity, cost, etc.)
- Prepare materials for shipment ensuring proper handling and damage prevention
- Maintain and track inventory using automated inventory management systems
- Monitor minimum inventory levels and recommend adjustments
- Utilize logistics systems including:
- Naval Tactical Command Support System (NTCSS) Relational Supply (R-Supply)
- SWIFT (BizFlow), NAVSUP OneTouch, Government Distribution and Accounting Property List (GDAPL), and Federal Logistics Data (FEDLOG)
- Identify and process excess property redistribution or disposal (Supply Support Activity (SSA) / Defense Reutilization and Marketing Office (DRMO))
- Support inventory audits and compliance inspections
- Experience: Experience with logistics or inventory management systems
- Experience: Installation-level or strategic logistics support programs
- Skills: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in inventory/accountability tasks
- Skills: Military-style correspondence
- Clearance: Secret
- U.S. citizen
- Driver’s License required
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Must be able to operate Government vehicles, forklifts, and vans
- Must maintain professional work ethic and reliability
- Must demonstrate effective communication skills
- Must maintain accurate documentation and reporting
- Must comply with security, safety, and drug-free workplace requirements
- Must be capable of working within classified environments and systems (NIPRNET/SIPRNET)
- Ability to lift and carry equipment and materials
- Capability to stand, walk, and work in warehouse/armory environments for extended periods
- Ability to operate material handling equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks)
- Ability to work in indoor and outdoor operational environments
- While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk, listen, and write.
- The employee frequently is required to use foot/ankle motions, hands or fingers, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
- The employee is required to stand, walk, sit; and reach with hands and arms.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
