About the role
The Wealth Solutions Advisor provides proactive investment and banking guidance, including account opening, asset gathering, and managing banking and lending needs. The role involves handling both inbound and outbound calls while identifying solutions that best meet client needs—whether through digital platforms, centralized team-based advice, or in-market dedicated advice.
Responsibilities
- Identify, build, and deepen client relationships through proactive outbound and inbound contacts to increase wallet share using financial planning and profiling skills (segments include Citi Private Client, Citigold, Priority, and Everyday Banking tiers).
- Engage clients to transition those better suited for digital solutions.
- Respond to referrals from business partners and digital sources, recommending the best offerings based on client profiling and suitability assessments.
- Anticipate complex financial needs and offer solutions through a wide range of products, services, and tools.
- Recognize and address clients’ banking, credit, life insurance, and investment needs with support from product specialists to provide holistic financial solutions.
- Assist clients with investment-related tasks, including:
- Account modifications
- Options applications/agreements (if applicable)
- Guidance on utilizing online resources
- Resolving issues escalated by Operations and Account Opening teams
- Qualify banking referrals and marketing enrollments for digital accounts.
- Assist with onboarding and account opening for new clients.
- Articulate the value proposition for Citigold, Citi Private Client, and digital programs.
- Provide exceptional support and issue resolution for digital and dedicated advice clients, assuming end-to-end ownership.
- Accurately track client interactions, update records of open issues, and monitor progress.
- Proactively source, acquire, and expand customer relationships by maximizing sales and service opportunities.
- Make securities recommendations and provide investment advice using firm models and research.
- Refer opportunities to segment partners (e.g., Senior Wealth Advisor, Small Business Partners, Home Lending Officer, Digital Wealth Solutions).
- Manage client follow-up and adhere to all regulatory and compliance procedures.
- Ensure strict adherence to KYC/AML and other compliance norms.
- Assess risk in business decisions while safeguarding Citi’s reputation, clients, and assets through ethical judgment and compliance with laws and policies.
Requirements
- 2-5 years of industry experience in financial services.
- Experience in a proactive, successful sales and service role.
- Strong analytical and financial skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Organized with strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word) and familiarity with financial planning software preferred.
- Basic understanding of investment and financial planning strategies preferred.
- Self-starter, problem solver, and goal-oriented team player able to work independently.
- Active Series 7 and 66 (or 63 and 65) licenses (required).
- Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) certification.
- Group 1 insurance.
- Registration as a mortgage loan originator with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (SAFE Act requirement).
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
Pay
Full-time salary range: $76,560.00 - $106,840.00. Eligible employees may also receive discretionary and formulaic incentive and retention awards.
