About the Role

Lead unforgettable outrigger canoe adventures on the Pacific Ocean, sharing Hawaiian culture, history, and the spirit of aloha with guests of all ages.

Responsibilities

• Conduct a 15-minute safety briefing and introduction to outrigger canoeing before each tour.
• Guide guests on paddle-outs from Kaanapali Beach, helping them ride waves and experience ocean wildlife (turtles, fish, reefs, whales in season).
• Provide a unique perspective of Kaanapali from the water, ensuring a fun and safe experience for families and participants aged 6 and up.
• Lead the 60-minute Cultural Outrigger Experience in Lahaina, offering an ocean-side view of the historic district while teaching Hawaiian history and traditions.
• Share the mission of preserving and promoting Hawaiian culture through canoeing, with proceeds supporting Maui Cultural Lands, a non-profit dedicated to cultural preservation.

Requirements

• Ability to lead tours for participants aged 6 and up.
• Strong communication skills to engage guests in safety briefings, history, and cultural traditions.
• Experience or enthusiasm for outrigger canoeing and ocean activities.
• Passion for Hawaiian culture and a desire to share it with others.
