About the Role

At Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, you'll help inspire magic by enabling our teams to push the limits of entertainment and create the never-before-seen. This multidisciplinary internship may place candidates with teams including Quality Engineering, Worldwide Safety & Assurance, Engineering Services, Textile Engineering Services, Central Shops, Global Engineering & Technology, and Facility Asset Management. The internship runs from January to June 2027.

Responsibilities

  • Support data analysis, metrics, and projects that identify safety-related trends and inform decisions across Disney Experiences.
  • Design and supervise the fabrication and testing of improvements and new designs for ride vehicles and systems.
  • Provide software services for ride, show, and other process control systems being developed and installed in the Disney parks.
  • Collaborate with multi-functional teams and partners to identify, address, and resolve technical issues in software and hardware interfaces.
  • Use programming languages like C++, C#, Python, and Node.js to build and maintain efficient, reliable code for system operations and improvements.

Requirements

  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Availability to work various shifts based on project requirements.
  • Experience in Object Oriented Programming (OOP).

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Post Graduate degree at an accredited 4-year college or university, majoring in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Junior, Senior, or Graduate student status by arrival date.
  • Be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class at the time of application or currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Possess unrestricted work authorization.
  • Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants may only work for one consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program.
  • Be compliant with The Disney Look appearance guidelines.
  • Able to provide reliable transportation to/from work.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Successful completion of the Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship.
  • Experience in PowerApps and PowerAutomate.
  • Experience in Databases, SQL, or NoSQL.
  • Understands version control systems such as Git.
  • Practices Test Driven Development (TDD) or Behavior Driven Design (BDD).
  • Experience in Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD).
  • Knowledgeable in Linux Operating Systems.
  • Experience in Docker or Containers.
  • Experience in Cloud technologies such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher (no rounding) as shown on a transcript.

Schedule

  • Fully available Monday through Friday with occasional weekends or holidays based on project needs.
  • Up to 40 hours per week, with early mornings or late nights possible.
  • Bulk of work time will be during traditional 8 a.m.–5 p.m.

Pay

The pay rate for this role in Orlando, FL is $31 per hour for undergraduate students and $36 per hour for graduate students.
