About the Role

Facility Asset Management (FAM) and Buena Vista Construction Company (BVCC) provide construction project management services for the Walt Disney World Resort. FAM focuses on maintaining the parks, attractions, rides, resorts, roads, retail shops, and restaurants while preserving the overall show quality of the Walt Disney World Resort. Their outstanding construction management staff leads field aspects of construction projects, including supervising field construction activities and ensuring the client's requirements regarding functionality and standards are met.

BVCC is the in-house construction organization performing work exclusively at the Walt Disney World Resort. Scope of services includes providing construction management, general contracting, specialty, electrical, and plumbing contracting. BVCC offers a broad spectrum of construction expertise, with a heavy focus on themed construction elements such as rockwork, themed paint finishes, and fiberglass fabrication.

The approximate dates of this internship are January – June 2027.

Responsibilities

• Support Construction Managers who coordinate the construction process before, during, and after field implementation
• Review drawings and specifications, project schedules, estimates, field changes, finances, and punch list items with the Project Leader
• Detail current projects by keeping meeting minutes, daily reports, attending on-site job walks, and photo documentation
• Coordinate site access and collaborate with contractors, operations, vendors, and governmental entities
• Develop an understanding of construction site safety and assist in the preparation of Site-Specific safety plans

Requirements

• Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
• Availability to work various shifts commensurate with project requirements

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree or Post Graduate degree at an accredited 4-year college or university majoring in Construction Management, Project Management, Engineering Management, or a related field
• Junior, Senior, or Graduate student status by arrival date
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher (no rounding) as shown on a transcript
• Be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class at the time of application OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship
• Be at least 18 years of age
• Possess unrestricted work authorization
• Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants may only work for one consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program

Preferred Qualifications

• Successful completion of the Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship

Additional Information

• Be compliant with The Disney Look appearance guidelines
• Fully available Monday through Friday with occasional weekends or holidays pending project need, up to 40 hours each week; early mornings or late nights are possible, but the bulk of work time will be during traditional 8 a.m.–5 p.m.
• Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work

Pay

The pay rate for this role in Orlando, FL is $31 per hour for undergraduate students and $36 per hour for graduate students.
