Waxer Operator - Overnights

About the role

The Waxer Machine Operator is responsible for setting up and operating waxer equipment according to manufacturing orders, Job Hazard Analyses, and the production schedule. This role involves inspecting and testing products for various quality specifications, understanding and interpreting production requirements, and performing routine calculations for wax and ink requirements.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and adjust waxer equipment in accordance with MOs, SOCs, and production schedule
• Inspect and test products for basis weights, appearance, print quality, color match, and other requirements
• Understand and interpret production requirements written in MOs, SOCs, and verbal instructions
• Monitor and maintain inventory levels of ink, wax, and supplies
• Assist in troubleshooting machines and reporting any issues to leadership
• Perform preventive and routine maintenance tasks
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Assist in safety inspections and reporting safety concerns

Requirements

• High School or trade school graduate or equivalent GED
• Basic reading and mathematics skills
• 2+ years of machine operating experience in a manufacturing environment
• Understanding of safety requirements and ability to follow JHAs
• Able to read and understand MOs, SOCs, and quality alerts
• Background in food-safe manufacturing environments is a plus

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

• Comfortable working in non-temperature-controlled environments
• Capable of pulling, pushing, lifting, moving, and adjusting products up to 50 pounds
• Able to stand for extended periods, walk, and lift as needed
• Wears hearing protection and steel-toed shoes
• Safety, hygiene, and cleanliness are strictly enforced

Pre-Hire Process

• Completion of a Criminal Background Check and Drug Screening

Summary Compensation
