Wax Injection Lead, Weekend Shift
Howmet Aerospace has an immediate opening for a Wax Injection Lead in our Patterns Business Center at our Engines Products - Cleveland Operations Tempcraft facility located at 3960 S. Marginal Rd. in Cleveland. This position is responsible for ensuring the flow of work through a production area and making sure that quality parts are being produced in the quantities specified in the schedule.
About the role
The Wax Injection Lead role is a hands-on position on the manufacturing floor working with operators to train them on proper and safe procedures for using equipment, inspecting parts, and ensuring adherence to defined processes. The Wax Injection Lead identifies and documents problems and, where possible, solves quick production issues to restore workflow in the moment.
Howmet Engines is a world-class producer of aero engine and industrial gas turbine components, including airfoils, rings, disks, and forgings. We excel in vacuum melted superalloys, machining, performance coatings, and hot isostatic pressing for high-performance parts that enable quieter, more fuel-efficient aero engines and cleaner power generation.
Responsibilities
- Ensure safe work practices and that all EHS policies and requirements are being followed.
- Oversee activities to ensure standard processes are being followed and quality parts are produced in accordance with the schedule.
- Manage resources to achieve scheduled production goals.
- Maintain shop floor presence with a focus on providing in-the-moment training and feedback related to safety, quality, and productivity.
- Be thoroughly familiar with department activity instructions.
- Schedule presses for all three shifts to meet production needs.
- Ensure efficient startup and/or shutdown of shift.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements
- High School diploma, GED, or equivalent of 5 years of inspection experience.
- Able to pass an annual eye exam per Jaeger.
Preferred Qualifications
- Wax Injection experience.
- Previous experience as a trainer, lead person, or supervisor.
- Experience working with Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, etc.).
Schedule
Three weekend shift positions are available: Friday to Sunday, 6 a.m. - 6:30 p.m. Employees work 36 hours each week and are paid for 40 hours. Voluntary overtime opportunities are available during the week in accordance with the company's 16/64 rule.
Pay
Hourly range: $22–$28 (actual compensation varies based on factors such as education, experience, skillset, and location) plus shift differential.
