Wax Finisher, 2nd Shift

Under the supervision of the Production Area Lead, the Wax Finisher is responsible for the final finishing of wax and wax/plastic patterns.

Responsibilities

  • Remove flash, repair defects, and smooth blends on wax and wax/plastic patterns
  • Repair defects in pattern assemblies without altering contour or shape, using wax as the filling material
  • Dress pour cups and attach finished patterns to trees
  • Attach pour cups to pattern gating
  • Assemble plastic or wax cross arms and vent plugs if performing gating work
  • Report finished pieces via data entry into the computer inventory system
  • Prepare cores when working on IGT patterns
  • Apply blue sealing for plastic/wax patterns

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) from an accredited institution (required)
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively as part of a team
  • Willingness to wear PPE (personal protection equipment) and follow safety precautions
  • Capable of light to moderate physical activity, including walking, sitting, and standing for extended periods
