About the role

searching for a dynamic HAMPTON ROADS SHOW/PRODUCTION INTERN who wants to work alongside producers to plan and prep our daily lifestyle and entertainment show, and directors on technical production.

Responsibilities

• working in the show rundown daily (writing/graphics creation)
• floor directing during the show
• greeting and putting mics on guests
• prop set up and take down
• re-set/wrap set after each show
• moving cameras
• kitchen cleanup
• posting stories to the website
• social media content creation

Requirements

must be enrolled in a college degree granting program

will be required to show proof of enrollment in an internship course within that program

Qualifications

courses completed in communications, TV production, journalism, theater or related field

Skills

• ability to stay calm under tight deadlines
• good communication skills with the team and guests of the show
• willingness to learn the inner workings of a local newsroom and how all departments in a TV station work to support each other

Schedule

12-15 morning hours per week on site: Monday through Friday. Specific days and times will vary and be set in agreement with supervisor.
