WAVY Unpaid Hampton Roads Show/Production Intern, Fall 2026

Duties

• Floor directing during the show
• Greeting and putting mics on guests
• Prop set up and take down
• Clean/wrapping set after each show
• Moving cameras
• Kitchen cleanup
• Posting stories to the website

Requirements

• Completed courses in communications, TV production, journalism, theater, or related field
• Ability to stay calm under tight deadlines
• Good communication skills with the team and guests of the show
• Enrolled in a college degree granting program
• Show proof of enrollment in an internship course within that program
• 12-15 morning hours per week on site on some weekdays

Qualifications

• Willingness to learn the inner workings of a local newsroom
• Understanding of how all departments in a TV station work to support each other
