About the role

The Student Assistant position in the Department of Music at Washington Adventist University (WAU) is designed for currently enrolled students who are looking to gain practical experience while supporting the music department's operations.

Responsibilities

• Afford support to the Department of Music with office-related tasks such as photocopying, program creation, locker management, and instrument inventory.
• Assist with the acquisition, filing, sorting, and distribution of choral and orchestral music.
• Participate in music department events like recitals, concerts, and Music Fest.

Requirements

• Must be a currently enrolled WAU student registered for at least 12 credits.
• Must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0.
• Must be a member of Columbia Collegiate Chorale, Pro Musica, or NEYE.
• Must possess intermediate ability with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
• Must have the ability to read music and preferably have piano skills.
• Must be familiar with notation software such as Sibelius, Finale, Noteflight, etc.
• Must be available on weekends and evenings.
