The Waterjet Operator sets up and operates waterjet equipment within the Fabrication Department. Primary Responsibilities

• Set up and operate waterjet machines to manufacture precision components
• Work from blueprints, drawings, work orders, and technical instructions
• Calculate dimensions and tolerances using measuring instruments such as calipers and tape measures
• Align and secure fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, and materials onto machines
• Select appropriate tools, equipment, and materials for each job
• Load programs, home machines, and verify program accuracy prior to operation
• Machine parts to specifications using various tools such as grinders, drills, and engraving equipment
• Perform in-process and final inspections to ensure quality standards are met
• Troubleshoot and resolve machining or equipment issues
• Deburr, clean, and properly mark finished parts
• Maintain equipment through routine cleaning and lubrication
• Accurately record production time and output
• Lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive lifting
• Stand, walk, climb, bend, and crouch for extended periods
• Work in confined or awkward spaces, use ladders, and perform physically demanding tasks in a manufacturing environment

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• One to two years of waterjet or related machining experience
• Prior experience working in a manufacturing environment
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
• Experience using hand tools and precision measuring instruments such as calipers and tape measures
• Basic computer skills
• Familiarity with 2D and 3D CAD software (preferred)
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
• Proven problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
• Ability to manage multiple tasks or projects simultaneously
