Machine Operator 2nd Shift

About the role

Cornerstone Building Brands is a leading manufacturer of exterior building products. This position is full-time and operates on a 2nd shift schedule.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate heavy machinery and related gauges to perform various cutting, punching, forming, blocking, and processing operations
• Use a submerged arc welder to weld flat bar
• Knowledge of production techniques and ability to produce quality-building parts
• Understand and adhere to all safety rules and precautions necessary for working in a manufacturing environment
• Operate computerized equipment and material handling equipment
• Perform routine preventive maintenance, adjustments, and lubrication on equipment and production tools as required to maintain proper operation
• Mark part number, order number, number of pieces on parts. Attach identification tags as required for customer to have the ability to locate correct parts
• Maintain continuous improvement practices in work area
• Repetitive material handling. Some in awkward body positioning
• Repetitive climbing on and off of equipment and ladders
• Varying and extreme working conditions inside and outside (Hot, Cold, Rain, Shine)

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in high production manufacturing environment
• Interpret blueprints, specifications, and other technical data and select correct raw material or semi-finished parts
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist

Pay and Schedule

Base pay starts at $20 per hour plus $1.00 per hour shift differential. 2nd Shift: 3:15 pm - 1:45am
