Position Description

David Evans and Associates, Inc., offers comprehensive solutions in natural resources and water/wastewater management. The Water and Environment team manages complex whole-system resources and creates value for clients by blending innovation with reliability and sustainable practices.

What You’ll Do

  • Technical Leadership & Project Delivery
    • Lead planning and design for municipal water and wastewater systems
    • Manage complex design tasks and coordinate multidisciplinary teams
    • Prepare and oversee engineering deliverables including plans, specifications, reports, and cost estimates
    • Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and design standards
    • Serve as Engineer of Record or technical lead on projects
  • Team Leadership & Mentorship
    • Mentor and guide junior engineers and technical staff
    • Review work for technical accuracy and quality
    • Support team development and contribute to a collaborative environment
  • Client Engagement & Business Development
    • Build and maintain relationships with municipal clients and regulatory agencies
    • Support proposal development, interviews, and pursuit strategies
    • Participate in professional organizations and industry engagement

What You Bring

  • Required Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or related field); PE license required or ability to obtain
    • 10+ years of progressive civil engineering experience, with a focus on water and wastewater systems
    • Strong experience in municipal (city and/or special purpose district) water/wastewater system design
    • Proven ability to lead design efforts and coordinate multidisciplinary teams
    • Experience managing or supporting projects through all phases of delivery
    • Familiarity with public agency processes, permitting requirements, and regulatory coordination
    • Proficiency with standard engineering tools (e.g., hydraulic modeling, drafting/design software, Bluebeam, spreadsheets)
    • Strong communication and technical writing skills
    • Experience mentoring or supervising junior staff
