About the role
The Water/Wastewater Project Manager will contribute to the development and execution of projects within the Water Practice Group at STV. This role involves managing projects ranging from small to large, including water, stormwater, wastewater, pumping, and conveyance infrastructure. The office location is flexible, with options in New York City, White Plains, NY, Lawrenceville, NJ, or Philadelphia, PA.
Responsibilities
- Delivering large and/or multiple projects on time, within budget, and in compliance with contract requirements.
- Providing effective, skilled project management to reduce project costs and add value to the business through the application of proven project management techniques.
- Aiding in the execution of existing projects and assisting in the pursuit of new work.
- Functioning as a team leader for projects, including serving as the liaison to internal departments as needed.
- Planning, organizing, and directing design staff.
- Executing project designs and overseeing construction services.
- Interfacing with clients to understand their needs and ensure expectations are met.
- Participating in corporate initiatives to support the company's goals.
- Assessing project requirements and developing approaches to meet project and client needs.
- Maintaining and enhancing project quality by providing suggestions to improve effectiveness.
- Establishing, monitoring, and reporting appropriate metrics for measuring key project criteria.
- Fostering communication plans and conducting status review meetings among project team members and clients.
- Supervising the work of others.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Professional Engineer registration in New York, New Jersey, or Pennsylvania with a minimum of 8 years of experience.
- Demonstrated experience in planning, design, and construction of water and wastewater facilities and/or infrastructure.
- Experience working with local water clients, including municipalities, agencies, and investor-owned companies.
- Experience delivering projects for larger water clients in the area is a plus.
- Experience using CAD and 3-D modeling software.
- Ability to manage and report on project budgets and schedules.
- Skills in leadership, oral and written communication, planning, teamwork, decision-making, judgment, and problem-solving.
- Experience with presenting and leading/participating in project meetings.
- Experience directing, coordinating, and supervising a staff.
- Knowledge of scheduling, spreadsheet, document, and database software (such as Contracts Manager (Expedition), P3E, Microsoft Office package, and/or other related software).
- Knowledge of and experience in reviewing and understanding a project’s Health and Safety Plan and QA/QC Plan.
- Experience in reviewing and overseeing a Document Control Plan, and development/utilization of a Project Management and Procedures Manual.
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of principles and practical applications of hydraulics, pipeline mechanics and materials, pumping systems, and operation and control.
- Knowledge of treatment unit processes and ability to work closely with subject matter experts across all areas of water and wastewater facilities.

Pay
$133,635.31 - $152,726.06
