About the role
The Water/Wastewater (W/WW) team at JMT is a dynamic and innovative group of professionals dedicated to shaping the future of water and wastewater infrastructure. This role involves managing projects from design through construction phases, collaborating with various disciplines, and leading initiatives that enhance community water systems.
Responsibilities
- Manages project(s) in accordance with scope, schedule, and budget
- Collaborates with disciplines and subconsultants to develop a risk adverse project scope and fee
- Develops and maintains project plans, including project management plans and quality management plans
- Maintains and executes project progress, identifies and mitigates risks, and develops extra work order requests and open-end contract task proposals
- Communicates project status, updates, and issues to internal and external stakeholders
- Participates in office's project financial status meetings
- Buils relationships with clients to understand their preferences and requirements to set up and execute quality projects
- Prepares progress reports and reviews invoices
- Develops and leads project status and presentations
- Aids Section Heads, Office Leaders, and Practice Leaders with the marketing process, including making SMART Go/No Go decisions, proposal development, and interviews
- Coordinates and guides all technical resources within the project team to ensure a high-quality outcome
- Provides coaching and mentoring to the project team through one-on-one check-in meetings and various project debriefs to acknowledge achievements, identify areas for improvement, and share lessons learned
- Leads and manages team members by providing leadership and continuous performance management (setting expectations, goals, feedback, 1:1 meetings, coaching) that supports the growth and development of the team
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in civil, mechanical, environmental, or chemical engineering or a related field from an ABET accredited engineering program
- Registered Professional Engineer
- 10+ years of experience
- Experience delivering water and wastewater projects from design through construction phase engineering services
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Works well in a team environment
Qualifications

Pay
Compensation for this position is $60-80/hour annually, commensurate with experience, education, and certifications.
Schedule
Work is performed within a general office environment 95% of the time. Field work is required on occasion where work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Some lifting (up to 25 lbs) may be required as needed.
