About the role
The Superintendent is responsible for all onsite management of construction projects and field personnel from inception to completion. This role requires expertise as a competent person in the construction trade with experience in mechanical equipment, structural steel, piping installation, welding procedures, lifting and rigging, and process plant construction projects.
Responsibilities
- Review, understand, and implement construction project documents such as plans, specifications, drawings, job layout, as-builts, and quantities
- Plan for personnel requirements on the job site
- Assist in planning for equipment and tools needed on the job site and scheduling with the equipment department
- Determine material needs, availability, scheduling, storage, and handling
- Instruct and train others on proper construction and safety procedures
- Assist in managing subcontractors on the job site
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or associated training in mechanical, structural, and piping fields, or 10 years of construction operations or construction-related experience
- Direct experience and knowledge of heavy civil or industrial construction
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, etc.) and ability to learn new software
- Ability to read and understand construction plans and specifications
- Experience profitably managing all aspects of an assigned project
- Ability to travel to remote construction project locations as required
- Valid driver’s license with a motor vehicle history that meets company insurance requirements
Pay
$120,000 – $150,000 per year
